Equispheres’ patent-pending atomization technology produces free-flowing, consistently sized, agglomerate-free, spherical metal powders, designed to significantly improve the manufacturing process, quality and reliability of customers’ end use products. Furthermore, Equispheres’ staff of researcher and metallurgists offer a range of services to assist customers is in identifying the appropriate chemical composition of alloys required to meet demanding aerospace and medical component requirements.

Jeffrey York, CPA, CA – Chairman of the Board
Jeffrey York is the Chief Executive Officer of Farm Boy Inc., an Ontario-based food store chain known for its quality products and fresh produce. Mr. York also serves as Chairman of the Board for Stria Lithium Inc., and Mincom Capital Inc. A chartered accountant, Mr. York began his professional career with Ward Mallette, Chartered Accountants, before joining Giant Tiger Stores Ltd. During his 20 years with Giant Tiger, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the company for 10 years. Mr. York graduated from Princeton University in 1986 with a degree in Economics and obtained his Chartered Accountant designation in 1989.
Kevin G. Nicholds, MBA – President, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director
A graduate of Queen’s University and the University of Western Ontario, with a business pedigree in the Canadian printing industry, Kevin Nicholds brings management expertise in strategic thinking, change management, international business, and technology innovation to Equispheres. As President of Dollco Integrated Print Solutions Inc., Mr. Nicholds transformed the company through the adoption of digital technologies that provided new, high-growth sources of revenue. Under Mr. Nicholds’ leadership, Dollco grew from $12 Million to more than $50 million in revenue, employing more than 300 people.
Mark Dance, B.Sc – Executive Vice President, Director
Mark Dance has spent the past 30 years in the high-tech community. For 11 of those years, he was at Creo Inc., a publicly traded company, where he played central roles in growing the company from USD$10 million in revenue to over USD$700 million in revenue, and from 100 to more than 4000 people world-wide. His roles at Creo included Vice President Product Development, President, COO, CFO and Board Member. Since Creo’s sale to Eastman Kodak in 2005 for USD$1 billion, Mr. Dance has worked with over 60 companies in corporate and IP management. Mr. Dance has a Bachelor of Applied Science (Honours) degree in Mechanical Engineering from UBC and holds a number of patents for medical technologies.
Dr. Mark Gallerneault, P.Eng., PhD, MSc, BSc (Hons) Chief Technology Officer
Dr. Mark Gallerneault is a distinguished scientist, engineer, named inventor, patent holder, lecturer, and an internationally recognized authority on metals solidification, materials processing, and the mathematical modeling of heat and fluid flow in metal systems. A NATO Science Fellowship at Oxford University and Post Doctoral Fellowship at Queen’s University are among Dr. Gallerneault’s numerous academic awards. Currently, Dr. Gallerneault, is an adjunct researcher in the Department of Materials and Metallurgy at Queen’s University. Dr. Gallerneault held various senior management and technical positions with Novelis Inc., a spinoff of aluminum producer Alcan Incorporated. His appointments included those of Technical & Site Director for Novelis’ Global Technology Centre in Kingston, Ontario, with responsibility for Novelis’ global R&D operations and programs with sister R&D sites in Korea, India, Switzerland, Germany, Canada and the United States. As a senior scientist with Alcan, Dr. Gallerneault oversaw Alcan’s R&D transition to Novelis and served in a variety of scientific and engineering capacities with Alcan between 1980 and 2004.
John A. Chapman, B.Tech, P.Eng., MBA, CMC, CPA, CMA Chief Financial Officer
John Chapman has been providing consulting CFO services to public and private companies in the Ottawa area since 2006. He has assisted companies with financing, public listing, interface with external organizations, shareholders, and boards, as well as establishing the finance organization’s process and procedure while providing ongoing oversight. Prior to providing consulting CFO services, Mr. Chapman held positions at Bell Canada and BCE companies in the areas of finance, human resources and engineering. He received a Bachelor of Technology (Mechanical Engineering) from Ryerson Polytechnical Institute in 1988 and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Ottawa in 1999.
Dr. David Buckley, BSc, PhD, Vice President Engineering
Dr. David Buckley, BSc, PhD Vice President Engineering – Dr. David Buckley is a seasoned senior manager with proficiency in managing and transitioning technology programs from development to volume manufacturing. Dr. Buckley’s management experience ranges from small entrepreneurial companies to large, mature multinational organizations. This includes over 6 years of start-up experience managing early-phase technology development and new product introduction, over 10 years of operations management in small-to-medium sized businesses and 13 years of program management at a large international corporation. Dr. Buckley received his undergraduate and doctoral degrees from University of Bath, England.
Doug Brouse, BSc, Vice President, Strategic Partners and Alliances
Doug Brouse has a 20-year career in business development and executive management in the field of aerospace. Doug Brouse co-founded a technology company, Mxi Technologies, which focused on providing technology-intensive products and services to the aerospace industry. His roles included Executive Vice President of Marketing and Sales and subsequently CEO where he helped grow the company to $45 million in annual revenue and 250 employees worldwide. After the successful sale of the company in 2011, Mr. Brouse assisted the National Research Council of Canada in developing and executing strategies to transfer innovative research conducted by the council to industry. Mr. Brouse holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science.
